Yesterday's Show - Stage

Friday's Show went much better than Thursday's. The Puppet Show Stage was much more sturdy and safe after buying duct tape and the wood rod to help hold it together. Now I'd like to get two more to use on either side of me while having one to cover my body and stand.

The other ideas building a larger one would be great but how do you store it and haul it around?

Old Hand Puppets

Yogi Bear was one of the most popular Hanna Barbara characters, I really like the first cartoons they made, some really great work with the backgrounds, music and short stories.
This looks like Smokey the Bears nephew.
I can not say Mr. Cool is memorable but I think he'd get along with Grimace.
Magilla Gorilla was always getting in a jam, I think I use to really like him as a kid. Now I think of him as an alright character like I do Wally Gator.
Grimace from McDonald's was a favorite of mine as a kid. I remember he was the funniest characters.
These Hanna Barbara charters look familiar but I couldn't guess at the title, oh Droop-A-Long Coyote.

Popeye the Sailor
I really like the pain striped shirt here on "Pop", I could use him with Dopey in a Christmas skit.
These Old Hand Puppets are perfect for having your own puppet show what ever age you are. The quality of the rubber heads are great quality and they're made all your favorite characters you could ever want for your puppet show.

Rules

The cardboard puppet show I made is on it's way out. I thought it was stored well and got it out of the rain before it hit, but kids at the park were in there tugging on it like a Piñata . . . how do you spell Piñata !?

All my hard work didn't go to waste, I learn a lot from making it, it's got to be made out of wood. But not back to the drawing board back to home depot.

I might want to reserve a GAZEBO in order to use the stage.

Be the smart little pig and build your house out of bricks!

Puppet Show Set Repair

Hello Welcome to Engineer Eric's Experimental Puppet Show Blog. Here I will be posting things about puppet's and the LIVE PUPPET SHOW experiences that we've been experiencing.  Currently the live play is at Garfield Park in South Pasadena on Thursdays.  The park always has enthusiastic kids and someone with them to keep them safe.

The puppet show is under construction, it's left wing has come undone.  The two pieces of foam are connected with a two inch thick white tape. The back is the same but with back tape.  I got the black tape today but when I got back I noticed I still needed the white.  I did not feel like going back to the store a third time!

I google "How to write for puppets and got a great page on the four "W's".  WHO, WHAT, WHERE and WRONG. It went on to say you can locate these elements  in every good puppet play, short script, small production, one man puppet party!
